Hello, my name is Nancy Schlender and I am from Potsdam, Germany. I enjoy traveling, karaoke and baking. I always enjoyed teaching and taking care of young children since my High School days. I’m living in Japan for over 10 years now and am teaching preschool-aged children since then. I have been teaching the 2-3-year-old Starfish class here at Blue Dolphins for over 8 years now. I really enjoy teaching this age group because they enjoy learning new things and are very curious about the English language.

In their first year here at Blue Dolphins we get the students used to the English and foremost school environment because for most of the students it is the first time being at school away from their family. Our lessons are all in English and include learning and improving social skills, physical development and self-care education. We include lots of singing, crafts and other activities to improve their motor skills. We use a lot of fun mediums in the class like paint, glue, play-dough, balls, balloons and more. We also encourage them to use the bathroom, taking care of their belongings and clothes and practice personal hygiene.

こんにちは。私の名前はナンシー・シュレンデルです。ドイツのポツダム出身で、趣味は旅行、カラオケ、お菓子作りです。高校生の頃から、子ども達を教えたり、お世話をしたりするのが好きでした。日本に住んで10年以上経ちますが、この間ずっと園児を教えてきました。ブルードルフィンズでは、8年以上前からStarfish（未就園児）クラスを担当しています。この時期の子ども達は、新しいことを学ぶのが好きで、英語にもとても興味を持っているので、教えるのがとても楽しいです。

ほとんどの子にとって、ブルードルフィンズでの1年目は家族と離れて過ごす初めての学校生活になるため、英語とスクールの環境に早く慣れることができるようにサポートしています。レッスンはすべて英語で行われ、社会性、モータースキル、身の回りのケアなどを身につけていきます。歌や工作など、運動能力を高めるためのアクティビティも多く取り入れています。レッスンでは、絵の具、糊、お米粘土、ボール、風船など、楽しい媒体をたくさん使います。また、トイレトレーニング、自分の持ち物の大切にすること、手洗いなども積極的に促しています。みなさまのお子さまのご参加をお待ちしております。

Hello, my name is Cory, and I am from Seattle, Washington. I came to Japan in March 2023, and I have been working as a preschool teacher since then.

I studied English education in university, with a focus on teaching non-native speakers. Before coming to Japan, I worked as a college English tutor for six years, supporting students in their learning.

I have experience teaching all preschool age groups, and I especially enjoy helping children explore creativity through art, crafts, and imaginative activities. I like to bring a fun and playful energy to the classroom through games, humor, and hands-on learning, so that children can feel excited and comfortable while learning.

In my free time, I enjoy drawing, writing, sewing, and cosplay. I also play bass and guitar, and love going to concerts and live events.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and having fun learning together!

こんにちは、コリーです！アメリカのシアトル出身です。2023年3月に日本に来てから、プリスクールで先生として働いています。

大学では英語教育を専攻し、特に英語を母語としない方への指導について学びました。来日前は、6年間大学で英語チューターとして、学生のみなさんの学習をサポートしていました。

プリスクールでは、すべての年齢のクラスを担当した経験があり、特にアートやクラフト、想像力を使った遊びを通して、子どもたちの創造力を引き出すことが大好きです。ゲームやユーモア、体験型のアクティビティを取り入れながら、子どもたちが「楽しい！もっとやりたい！」と思えるような、明るく元気なクラスづくりを心がけています。

趣味は、イラスト、執筆、裁縫、コスプレです。ベースやギターを演奏するのも好きで、コンサートやライブイベントにもよく行きます。

Hello, my name is Michael Lee.
I am the Blue Dolphin teacher. I am from Los Angeles, California. I have been living in Japan for more than twenty years and have been teaching at Blue Dolphins since 2009.

I really enjoy teaching young children. They make me feel young and energetic. I love watching their faces glow with joy with every accomplishment in class. I have taught all the levels of the kindergarten classes but mainly teach the Blue Dolphin class （5-6 y.o.）. They are in their final year of kindergarten before elementary school. In their last year, the students use what they have learned from the previous classes to build on and improve their English. This can be from learning new topics, expanding their vocabulary that they haven’t studied yet, or learning new concepts to improve their English. Also, they read more complex storybooks and comprehend what they have read in written form. My goal is to make all my students independent and strong and feel very comfortable with the English language.

こんにちは、私の名前はマイケル・リーです。カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス出身で、日本に住んで20年以上になります。2009年からブルードルフィンズで教えています。小さな子ども達を教えることはとても楽しく、子ども達のおかげで若々しく、エネルギーを感じることができます。何かできるようになるたびに、喜びで輝く子ども達の顔を見ることが、私は大好きです。年少クラスから年長クラスまで全てのクラスを教えてきましたが、今は主にBlue Dolphin（年長）クラスを教えています。Blue Dolphinクラスは小学校に上がる前の幼稚園の最終学年です。この最後の年、子ども達は年少・年中クラスで学んだことを基に、英語を上達させていきます。新しいトピックを学んだり、語彙を増やしたり、新しいコンセプトを学んだりしながら、英語力を高めていきます。また、より深い内容のストーリーブックを読み、読んだ内容を文章で理解できるようになっていきます。私のゴールは、子ども達が自主性と強い心を持ち、また英語を自由に使えるようになっていくことです。

スクールでお会いできることを楽しみにしています。楽しく英語を学び、たくさんチャレンジしながら進んでいきましょう。

Hello, my name is David, and I am the teacher for the Seal Class. I was born and raised in Southern California, United States, and have been living in Japan since 2017. I have a passion for traditional Japanese music and performing arts. I have been playing wadaiko since 2019 and am also a classically trained musician. I enjoy expressing creativity in many different forms, and people often describe me as warm and friendly. I also enjoy dad jokes and playful wordplay.

I have been teaching since graduating from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where I studied Japanese language. I began my career as a Japanese language teacher, and later moved to Japan to teach English in public schools. I have taught students in various ages, but I especially enjoy working with young learners and creating lessons that are both fun and intellectually engaging.

As the Seal Class teacher, I look forward to supporting each child’s intellectual growth, creativity, and interpersonal development. I am very excited to build meaningful memories and guide the children through the beginning of their educational journey.

こんにちは、デイビッドです！Sealクラスを担当しています。南カリフォルニアで生まれ育ち、2017年から日本で暮らしています。日本の伝統音楽や舞台芸術に強い興味があり、2019年から和太鼓を演奏しています。また、クラシック音楽のトレーニングも受けてきました。さまざまな形で創造力を表現することが好きで、「あたたかくてフレンドリー」と言っていただくことが多いです。ダジャレや言葉遊びも大好きです！

大学はハワイ大学マノア校で日本語を専攻し、卒業後に教える仕事を始めました。最初は日本語教師としてキャリアをスタートし、その後日本に移り、公立学校で英語を教えてきました。これまで幅広い年齢の生徒を指導してきましたが、特に幼い子どもたちと関わりながら、楽しく学びつつしっかり考える力も育てられるレッスンづくりにやりがいを感じています。

Sealクラスの担任として、子どもたち一人ひとりの知的な成長や創造力、そして人との関わりの力を大切に育てていきたいと思っています。子どもたちと一緒に、かけがえのない思い出をつくりながら、学びの第一歩をサポートできることをとても楽しみにしています！
